Inspiration
Second hand charity shops, a place of treasures of unknown histories and story's. I picked up this original oil painting from my local charity shop. It was painted by an artist called W Ray. What captivated me about this paining was its surreal green landscape of a Bowls Green and the people inside playing this game. Like a captured memory in time.
I wanted to overlay my own image on top of this painting by giving it a new meaning. At the same time I wanted to respect the original image. I decided to strike a balance between W Ray's image and my own by useing a circle to draw the eye to the image underneath. I wanted to add a contemporary style to in some ways a traditional painting. I would like the viewer to pear into the space, enter a dream or memory of a moment captured in time and interpret it in their own way. I would like to show "Homage to W Ray".
