Welcome the Beginning of Spring! Come and Paint your own Handmade Wheel Thrown Bud Vase.
If you are looking for a new activity for your family or friends why not come along to this workshop!
What makes this workshop special is that you get to paint your own Spring Themed creations on your very own handmade Bud Vase thrown on the potters wheel by the artist Martin that’s yours to keep and treasure!
Spend an afternoon relaxing and enjoy the moment by picking up a paint brush to create your unique Vase painting. Be inspired by the flowers and animals that come out during this spring season. Experience creativity and enjoy the moment.
Take it home, put some flowers in there to display in the home to welcome in Spring! Or give it to someone as a gift!
You will be guided by artists Martin and Wen-Hsi Harman. We’ll be there to support you throughout the session. You can view more of our work and experience here and here.
What will happen in the Workshop?
- Hand Paint 1 Bud Vase using ceramic paints and brushes provided. (Inspiration images provided for guidance)
- Once finished I will take the vase back to my studio to apply a clear glaze and fire in the kiln.
- Everything is included in the price apart from shipping if you need it.
Refreshments
- Access the cafe for drinks and snacks! (Charged at a Special Offer: £5.50 for any drink and cake!)
Collection of your Vase
- Process takes 3 weeks to complete.
- Once your vase is finished, I will contact you to arrange collection.
- You can either pick it up at The Note Warehouse, or I can ship it to you for £3.75 (UK standard 2nd class). "Shipping is optional."
- Finished Vase includes gift packaging seen in the picture!

Who is the Workshop for?
- Whether you’re an adult or child. Anyone can join. If under 12 please come accompanied with an adult. Bring your family along for a creative and fun-filled experience.
- No Experience is required as our workshops are beginner friendly and if you need some inspo we are here to help.

Q&A
Workshop
- I have never tried painting a vase before, will you provide any guidance? Myself and Wen-Hsi are here to help you, we will provide guidance.
- Do I need to bring anything? You don't need to bring anything. Just make sure you are wearing clothes you don't mind getting dirty. There will be facilitates were you can wash your hands.
Tickets
- Do I need to pre book a session or can I just turn up? Ideally this workshop works on a pre booking basis. This is because we have booked the space and we need to be able to plan and offer a high quality activity and to make sure we have enough materials and resources for everyone.
- I purchased a ticket, What happens Next? You will receive an email notification of your purchase. Please bring this to the event to enter!
- Will the Tickets remain on sale on March 15th? Tickets will remain on sale till Saturday 15th of March up to the beginning of the event if still available. The ticket price will be £27 at that time.

Transport
- I don't live close to the event, Is there a place I can stay? If you would like to stay in the area for the duration there is The Double Tree by Hilton Hotel and Bridge Inn
- I have a car, were should I park? Car parking is to the side of the Note Warehouse, if there are no available spaces, you can park on the road while being respectful of the neighbours.
- Can I get there by train. Yes you can! Take the train to Yatton Train Station. You can get a direct train from Bristol Temple Meads, Bedminster even London! Other trains run further afield. (11 minute walk to The Note Warehouse)
Refunds
- I purchased a ticket but would now like a refund? I can refund you the full ticket price 2 weeks before workshop if you need to cancel. However no refunds will be made from the 2nd of March.

Martin studied his MA in ceramics at Cardiff School of art and design in 2012. He has been making ceramic sculpture and paintings professional for the past 7 yeas. A lot of his ceramic process starts on the potters wheel so he has also many years of experience of using this tool and colour application.
He is a member of the UNESCO-International Academy of Ceramics IAC. His ceramic sculpture and paintings has been exhibited around the world such as Italy, France, Germany, South Korea, Australia and Switzerland. His ceramic sculpture is in public collections internationally such as the International Ceramics Studio Kecskemét Hungary, Ariana Museum Geneva Switzerland and The National Museum of Slovenia. WEN-HSI 文曦 Harman (1984-) was born in Taipei, Taiwan and is a ceramic artist currently living and working in Somerset, United Kingdom.
She studied her MA in Contemporary Crafts (Ceramics) at the University for the Creative Arts, Farnham, UK (2010). She also is the member of the UNESCO-International Academy of Ceramics IAC and Royal Society of Sculptors (MRSS). Her work is also in the public collections such as the International Ceramics Museum Foundation of Faenza, Italy (2022). The Compass Centre, Bristol, UK (2017). The Fule International Ceramic Art Museum in China (2016).The New Taipei City Yingge Ceramics Museum in Taiwan (2016).The Ceramic Foundation in South Korea (2015).
