Rubbish & Belief
Inspiration
What drives us as humans to Litter the Environment?
Is it Over Consumption, Laziness, a Disregard or lack of connection to our natural Environment. Often on my travels I see rubbish in the natural environment and in the human environment. It seems like littering is a constant recycle, in some ways it is like a human Belief as in this act of littering is seen to be normal.
For this project I wanted to respond to the theme of Rubbish and Belief. I went as far as using my own rubbish that I embedded into some of the paintings like packaging. Then I used household and acrylic paints to represent colours found in rubbish, I even used some of the rubbish to print colour onto the surface. The imagery symbolises Belief, it's spiritual or religious, other worldly, direct, and connected to human memory and experience.
