About Bubbleware?
My ceramic sculptures are usually made using geometric forms like cylinders, cones and spheres that are thrown on the potters wheel and cut up and joined together. Using the potters wheel is a fascinating process as clay can be shaped into many forms. Whilst creating ceramic sculpture I started making my own Tableware known as Bubbleware. I wanted the design to focus on the geometrics of the form and contrasting colours. It's an extension of my art and makes a nice addition to the Murch Store!
I started taking these tableware pieces to markets and realised people loved its tactile handmade, personalised quality. It was something different that could not be found els-ware. To this day I continue the journey and Bubbleware to me is about being playful, unique and fun.
How it is Made?
Bubbleware is hand-made tableware from start to finish. Each piece is made on the potters wheel from Stoneware Clay. I create tableware that not only serves a function but is also a work of art. Look closely on some of the forms and you will see little dimples or Bubbles I like to call them, hence the name Bubbleware! Each piece is hand glazed in a verity and combination of colourful glossy and matt glazes. It is then high fired in an electric kiln to 1250c. When the kiln opens, it's always a surprise. It is all made by one person me (Martin)
The end result?
I want to make tableware to a good quality as I believe in providing value. I use Stoneware clay as it's known for its durability as I would like it to last you many years.
I would like Bubbleware Tableware to make a unique colourful addition to your kitchen, home or place of work that you can cherish and use everyday whilst appreciating its unique art form. People like the way the tableware can be held in their hand creating a comforting experience. This along with contrasting glossy colour and matt glaze provides a tactile, colourful and fun feeling enhanced by the stoneware clay to liven up the day.
Weather your home is modern or traditional Buubleware will make a nice addition and even a special gift for someone.
Bubbleware is Microwave, Oven and Dishwasher safe. As it is handmade I would recommend hand washing to maintain its longevity.
When you open the box I would like Bubbleware to invite your senses and surprise you in a positive way.
